How to Turn on Two Factor Authentication for Your Facebook Account?

2FA (Two Factor Authentication) or Two Step Verification security method secures your social media Facebook account from all sorts of security breaches occurring over the internet. Once you enable 2FA, you will be asked to enter a unique verification code, along with password, each time you access your Facebook account. This authentication mechanism not only adds an extra layer of security in the login procedure, but also makes your account highly secure. So, activate it (2FA) for a secure login.

Step 1: Log in to your Facebook account using email or phone and password.


Step 2: Once you sign in successfully, click on the top right drop down menu present at the top of the page, and click on Settings option.


Step 3: Click on Security tab present on the left of the page.


Step 4: Click on Login Approvals option under Security Settings.


Step 5: A pop-up box ‘What are Login Approvals?’ opens. Click on Get Started.


Step 6: You will be asked for a phone number. A confirmation code will be sent via SMS to this number. Enter this confirmation code, and click on Continue.


Step 7: A pop-up box ‘Login Approvals Setup Is Complete’ opens, click on Close.
