If you want to protect your Twitter account from all sorts of security breaches, then 2FA (Two Factor Authentication) is the best and proven solution. After enabling 2FA for Twitter, you will require both secret password and a unique verification code (that will be sent to your registered mobile number after every login attempt made by you or someone else) to log in to your account. But, the main question is how to activate this security method on your account. This post is all about the steps required for activating 2FA, so go through it.
The various steps that you require to activate Two Factor Authentication for your Twitter account have been pointed below:
Step 1: Log in to your Twitter account using phone, email ID or username and password.
Step 2: After login successfully, move the cursor over Profile and settings icon present between the tabs Search Twitter and Tweet on the top right hand side of the page.
Step 3: Click on Settings option under Profile and settings.
Step 4: Click on Security and privacy tab present on the left hand side of the Settings page.
Step 5: Under Security section, click on check box ‘Verify login requests’.
Step 6: A pop-up box will open, click on Start.
Step 7: The next pop-up box ‘Confirm your phone number’ will open, click on Send code.
Step 8: Enter Verification code sent to your mobile, and click on Submit.
Step 9: A message Congrats, you’re enrolled! Will be displayed on the screen. Click on Get backup code.
Step 10: Finally, click on Done button.
Now, when you log in to your Twitter account, a six-digit unique verification code will be sent via text message to your registered mobile number. Enter this unique verification code or OTP to gain the access successfully.
